CRITICFEST

CriticFest - CriticAtac festival in Bucharest

RLS - SEE / CRITICFEST

CriticFest Schedule

CriticAtac is organizing between May 15 and May 17 the first edition of CriticFest – a festival of politics, arts and criticism, with the support of Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Southeast Europe. The aim of CriticFest is to bring critical leftist ideas into the public sphere and thus to contribute to the articulation of a stronger local and regional left.

This year, for its inaugural edition, CriticFest approaches two intertwined themes: on the one hand, theories and political strategies dealing with nature and ecology, and on the other hand, protest movements and the role of leftist forces in these movements in various countries of the region. These themes will be debated with 16 invited speakers from Romania and from countries across the region where significant protests have been taking place in the past year. A panel on politics and arts will bridge the gap between more theoretical aspects and practical strategies by inviting participants to reflect on new forms of protesting strategies that can incorporate art as a political and critical tool.

This event  will be the first in a long series of events bringing together the Southeast European leftist and progressive forces together in a sustained political effort beyond the local fragmentation and the nation state.
