RLS for Southeast Europe Summer School, July 2011

After the success of the first summer school, held in July 2010, RLS decided to continue with that praxis and to organize another summer school during next year.

The working title is: CRISIS – PROTEST – THE LEFT. The first day of the Summer School will feature a discussion on the global financial and economic crisis and its local characteristics. During the second day, the participants will discuss the consequences of the crisis, ranging from the rise of social protests, to the strengthening of nationalist and populist currents and the crisis of EU. On the third day, the focus will be on the challenges for the Left, both at the international and regional levels.

In addition to lectures, we planned to organize working groups and workshops. The target groups are young, left-oriented activists and scholars from Southeast Europe.
